The Default Reporting and Claims Specialist will be part of the Default Servicing team with responsibilities coordinate a complex, monthly reporting cycle while reviewing and adjusting mortgage insurance claims.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a pipeline of mortgage insurance claims and manage the monthly default reporting cycle.
  • Work exception queues, manage document workflow, and assist in transitioning customers to automated solutions.
  • Ensure systems logic aligns with both systems and operations processes. Recommend enhancements as needed. 
  • Develop process documentation for new tasks and maintain documentation for existing activities.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming email inquiries and phone calls.
  • Review, adjust, and settle claims with high attention to details and calculations.
  • Investigate and analyze defaulted loans. Recommend suitable course of action to mitigate losses.
  • Partner with IT staff in working through system enhancements, issues, and resolution.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reporting and refine it as company priorities change.
  • Provide ad hoc project assistance, as needed.
 
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field or the equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a mortgage-related business, preferably mortgage insurance.
  • Experience with Mortgage Insurance, GSE Default Servicing, and Claims preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to research independently, make decisions, and exercise good judgment.
  • Analyze and interpret information accurately.
  • Complete work in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
  • Meet productivity standards and achieve key outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and use information appropriately.
  • Ability to work with external customers, internal departments, and senior management.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite tools.
