JOB SUMMARY

The Specialist works closely with our field-based representatives to ensure we capture and develop all business opportunities. The Specialist will also be responsible for effectively managing the sales process and liaising with field sales in the territories to drive market coverage. The Specialist will be responsible for providing customer service by promptly answering calls, assessing the request and providing timely, correct answers to sales. The Inside Sales and Support Specialist must live in the San Francisco, Bay Area as this position is based in Emeryville, California.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and identify new business opportunities by interacting with a wide variety of accounts from small- and medium-sized organizations.
  • Plan, prioritize, manage and conduct prospecting and sales activities within the assigned list of accounts.
  • Perform outbound sales activities such as lead follow-up, sales qualifications and offer solutions to help accounts with understanding National MI products.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets/objectives and activity metrics for outbound calls, appointments and opportunities identified. Close inside sales deals and achieve customer satisfaction by understanding the needs and expectations of the customers and provide relevant solutions. Work closely with, and support, the Field Sales team on account strategy, demand generation activities, and results. Provide assistance in resolving field sales inquiries when needed.
  • Engage with customers, establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Qualify leads, including detailed needs analysis, product overview, and potential solution fit.
  • Organize and execute specialized projects such as call-out campaigns, data updates, and creating presentations.
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of NMI products and technologies, competitive products and industry trends.
  • Network with industry influencers, professional associations, and existing clients.
  • Establish close working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor the DOMO activity of customers and ensure proper attention to every customer detail.
  • Maintain current and accurate account and contact information in Salesforce.com (SFDC), and as needed, suggest process improvements for SFDC based on daily observations of current requests.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years’ experience in mortgage industry and mortgage lending experience required.
  • Five or more years’ sales experience.
  • Five or more years’ experience in customer relationship management, mortgage lending, and/or Loan Origination/direct lending experience required.
  • Knowledge of various loan origination systems, document management, and pricing engine systems (e.g., Encompass and Optimal Blue) a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One-Note and SFDC.
  • Must be proficient in presentation skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills, using all forms of media.
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible to changing priorities and varied duties on a daily basis.
  • Must have a professional demeanor and be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be results–driven.
  • Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.
