Job sUMMARY

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of all functions within in the Marketing team and is responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategic marketing plan to achieve the company’s new insurance written (NIW) growth and marketing goals. The Director will lead our efforts to provide consultation and technical direction in areas such as marketing campaigns, communications, web and mobile strategies, creative services, conference and sponsorship operations, brand stewardship in support of National MI’s corporate strategic plan.

ESSENTIAL Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Vice President of Marketing and Client Solutions, other internal stakeholders and subject matter experts as needed to develop and execute marketing campaigns that promote product and program positioning across the mortgage industry and organization. Ensure all programs are linked to the company and group strategic plan.
  • Provide strategic marketing direction, development and proposals for new and innovative marketing initiatives and ensure successful execution. Leverage and reinforce National MI’s distinctive value proposition and competitive differentiation to external customer audiences and assist in executing the sales strategy.
  • Maintain overall brand strategy for the company demonstrating a clear understanding of National MI’s brand attributes and communicates where applicable throughout the organization and to our customers.
  • Determine overall web, mobile, and digital strategy in line with overall company strategic direction. Develop and oversee design, development, promotion and maintenance of all National MI customer facing websites, social media and mobile platforms and other digital channels.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the mortgage markets and regulatory environment.
  • Support National MI’s participation in major regional and national conferences, including securing sponsorships, elevating company profile and related logistics.
  • Manage all aspects of marketing operations including budgets, external vendors for advertising, design services and project support.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff assisting them in accomplishing results through training, development, performance management and recognition.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.

ESSENTIAL Worker Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
  • Ten years of experience including extensive experience in marketing communications, field marketing and content marketing, including event and sponsorship strategy and brand building experience, preferably in Mortgage or Financial Services. Ideal prior experience includes working for mortgage lenders or companies that interact with mortgage lenders.
  • Minimum of five years of prior management experience.
  • Prior experience and strong understanding of marketing analytics to gain insights and make informed decisions.
  • Strategic thinking and creative abilities.
  • Ability to operate tactically while maintaining strategic focus.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication across numerous platforms including written, verbal and multi-media (print and email) with all levels of internal and external management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, customer relationship management (Salesforce.com) and marketing automation (Eloqua) required.
  • Familiarity with website design and search engine marketing.
  • Ability to develop content and provide creative direction when needed.
  • Ability to consistently prioritize and manage multiple tasks from concept through implementation, and deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget.
