POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Artificial Intelligence and Enterprise Data Management (VP AI & EDM) plans and directs all aspects of the organization’s artificial intelligence strategy and enterprise data management. This executive works closely with senior leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to set the long-term vision for AI and data initiatives, ensuring innovation, scalability, compliance, and responsible adoption. The Vice President leads the development and implementation of AI solutions while establishing and governing enterprise-wide data management and governance frameworks to maximize the value, quality, and protection of organizational data assets.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to prioritize AI and data initiatives based on business value, cost/benefit, and risk analysis.
  • Define and execute the organization's AI strategy, roadmap, and vision to align with enterprise goals. Measure and communicate the business value and ROI of AI initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Identify, champion, and oversee the development and deployment of high-impact AI solutions, from proof-of-concept to scaled deployment.
  • Work with business units and IT to ensure a deep understanding of AI and data requirements, identify opportunities and risks, and develop, implement, and drive strategies, solutions, and methodologies to strengthen the organization’s capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks for AI and data, including model validation, bias mitigation, data quality, and responsible practices.
  • Lead the development and implementation of AI and data management policies, procedures, and strategy, demonstrating thought leadership and integrity in all aspects of governance.
  • Oversee risk assessments, model monitoring, and compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and data protection laws.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform AI strategy.
  • Roll out and oversee an enterprise-wide data governance framework, focusing on data quality, protection, and compliance through policies, standards, principles, metrics, processes, and data architecture.
  • Lead and manage all organization-wide data governance activities, improving the quality and protection of sensitive data and information assets.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, and protection issues, working closely with management to improve the value of core data assets and respond to regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain inventories of enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics, ensuring compliance with data-related policies, standards, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Provide progress reports to management and oversee periodic updates to the department’s AI and Data Governance Roadmap.
  • Establish frameworks for responsible AI, risk management, and compliance to ensure ethical and secure adoption.
  • Identify new business opportunities related to information assets and represent data as a strategic business asset at the Senior Management table.
  • Build and mentor highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled AI/data science/data governance teams by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate and coordinate maintenance and purchasing contracts regarding AI and data software/hardware needs for the company as authorized. Develop and maintain vendor relationships. Define and negotiate service level agreements.
  • Responsible for team performance, including setting priorities, problem escalation, career mentorship and development, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related fields; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in AI, machine learning, data management, data science, or related technical fields.
  • Minimum of five years of management experience including demonstrated success in leading technical teams and delivering technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated success and expertise in implementing AI Strategies and methodologies.
  • Proven track record of AI and data management leadership using a blend of in-house and hosted delivery teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AI technologies, platforms, and best practices to support scalable, reliable, and ethical AI solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with mortgage concepts, practices and procedures including the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization.

Base Salary: $212,000 - $270,000

*Posted Base Salary Range applies to current posting and may change in the future. The posted Base Salary Range may vary for key factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and skill set. Benefit eligibility includes healthcare, life and disability insurance, 401(k), monthly allowance, 20 days of PTO, 10 paid Holidays, and bonus and equity potential.
