POSITION SUMMARY
The Financial Analyst supports the design and maintenance of critical financial and capital models as well as expense budgeting and forecasting, treasury analytics, and ad hoc projects for investor and rating agency relations. The models are key inputs into our financial forecasting process, capital allocation decision making, budgeting, and board reporting. The position supports the development, accumulation, and evaluation of key elements necessary to properly evaluate the financial position of the organization. This role will have high visibility within the company and will involve regular exposure to senior management. The Financial Analyst will work closely with peers across the organization to gather all relevant data required as part of day-to-day activities.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the maintenance and enhancement of driver-based, auditable financial planning and capital, expense, and treasury models under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Assists in integrating modeling work into operating practices of the company, working closely with peers.
- Maintains recurring financial reports utilizing financial modeling and analytics.
- Supports the monthly reporting process by gathering required data and collaborating with department heads to understand key assumptions and benchmarks.
- Collects and analyzes financial information and assists in the preparation of presentations for board of director meetings, investors, rating agencies, and regulators.
- Supports variance analyses within the plan-to-actuals and forecast-to-actuals planning processes.
- Supports the analysis of trends in key performance indicators, and performance vs. peer and industry benchmarks, assisting in identifying key business risks and opportunities.
- Supports the implementation of bestâpractices and helps identify process improvement opportunities to enhance productivity.
- Supports FP&A and treasury project initiatives.
- Performs additional ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field (accounting, finance, economics or other quantitative discipline) or equivalent experience.
- 0-1 years of financial modeling and related experience.
- Accounting/finance/valuation background preferred; experience reading and interpreting financial statements.
- Experienced user in MS Excel including Excel Add-ins and proficient in PowerPoint.
- Ability to proactively gather and synthesize data from internal and/or external sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; skilled in preparing effective summary analysis and presentations, with clear narrative and impactful graphics.
- Highly self-directed and curious with an enthusiastic approach to solving complex problems and attention to detail.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgment.
- Organized and detail oriented with ability to manage financial processes and the capacity to implement control procedures while driving continuous improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment while delivering on tight deadlines.
Base Salary Range: $56,000 - $72,000/year
